How To Overcome Bad Weather For Your Golf Tournament

Even when you've planned your entire golf outing properly, it still doesn't protect against the possibility of bad weather. Having a second plan of attack can come in handy just in case some bad weather happens in the middle of your event. It's best to be ready and to be able to go with the flow so your players can continue to have fun and your tournament can still come out a success.

You should view bad weather as a venue to showcase your great planning skills and as a chance to show the sponsors how much you truly appreciate their time, support, and their participation. While it is always possible to use bad weather insurance, it won't necessarily protect you against people thinking that you can't put on a great tournament, rain or shine. If you're properly prepared with alternative activities such as a raffle, games, fun snacks, or even an interesting speaker, then you will really have made the most of your opportunity and ensured continued participation to your tournament in the years to come.

Some coordinators at golf courses are willing to accommodate tournaments in the case of bad weather. They prefer to maintain their good business relationships, but they will also probably suggest proper planning just in case a bad storm does occur. One of the most important things to consider is whether you will get your deposit back in the case of bad weather. Will you get a percentage back or the entire amount? Always remember to read the fine print of your golf tournament contract!
